Health Alert – U.S. Mission Australia (April 5, 2020)
Event: International commercial flight options currently exist in Australia. United Airlines is currently the only airline operating regular direct service between Australia and the United States. U.S. citizens who wish to return to the United States should make commercial arrangements as soon as possible unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period. The U.S. government does not currently anticipate arranging repatriation flights in Australia at this time.
The Australian government has announced changes to certain types of temporary entry visas due to COVID-19. Please read the announcement here. Visit the Home Affairs website for information about all visa types.

- Have a plan to depart from Australia that does not rely on U.S. government assistance.
