Join us for a virtual discussion on how democratic governments in the Indo-Pacific are responding to the governance challenges of COVID-19, within an increasingly complex geopolitical region.
This edition of our Diplomacy Delivered virtual discussion series will feature Dr. Daniel Twining, President of the International Republican Institute, in discussion with Alex Oliver, Director of Research at the Lowy Institute.
We’ll cover topics including:
- How democratic countries in the Indo-Pacific encourage greater openness and trust;
- How Australia and the United States are responding to misinformation, disinformation, and online conspiracy theories during COVID-19;
- How governments can address declining youth support for democracy as a system of government.
The discussion will be followed by a live Q&A session, and audience questions are most welcome – please submit them in advance to AskEmbassyCanberra@state.gov, or in the Q&A window during the session.
