You’re invited to a virtual discussion on how Uyghurs around the world are working tirelessly to call out human rights abuses against their people, and the heavy personal cost they pay for doing so.
Join Uyghur activist and president of the Uyghur American Association, Kuzzat Altay, and Australia director of Human Rights Watch, Elaine Pearson, for a deep dive into the current human rights crisis in Xinjiang, and how Uyghurs are working to raise global support.
Kuzzat will also discuss the repercussions on family and loved ones that can be the price of speaking out against the CCP.
The discussion will be followed by a live Q&A session, and audience questions are most welcome – please submit them in advance to AskEmbassyCanberra@state.gov, or in the Q&A window during the session.
