Event: The Travel Advisory for Australia has changed to Level 3 – Reconsider Travel due to COVID-19.  Read the entire Travel Advisory.

Read the Department of State’s COVID-19 page before you plan any international travel.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Australia due to COVID-19.

Australia has resumed most transportation options and business operations.  However, Australia has enacted a travel ban on all non-residents and non-Australian citizens entering Australia.  The country has also restricted Australian citizens and permanent residents from traveling out of Australia; dual U.S.-Australian citizens and U.S. citizen permanent residents of Australia are not exempt from this rule.  All travelers entering Australia from overseas will be quarantined in a hotel or designated facility for 14 days, and must reimburse the government for the cost of accommodation.  The governments of all states and territories of Australia have implemented enhanced screening and quarantine measures and other regulations to reduce the spread of COVID-19. U.S. citizens in Australia should be prepared for measures in all Australian states and territories to change at any time.
